Everything you need to know about ordering, taking the test and understanding your results.
Before you order
Who is ColoAlert® for?
It's recommended for adults aged 45+, or anyone wanting a more comprehensive, non-invasive approach than FIT-only testing. If you have symptoms, see your GP instead.
Is this a replacement for NHS bowel screening?
No. Keep completing your NHS screening kit when invited. ColoAlert® is an additional private option.
How much does it cost?
£299.99 (sale price shown on the MeCheck product page, originally £349.99). Check MeCheck for the current price.
Taking the test
Do I need bowel preparation or a clinic visit?
No. The kit is designed for at-home collection with no bowel preparation, dietary restrictions or clinic appointment required.
What does the kit include?
A collection device, DNA stabilisation tube, step-by-step instructions and prepaid return packaging. Accredited lab analysis and a secure digital report are included.
How do I send my sample back?
Seal it in the stabilisation tube and post it using the prepaid return packaging, following the kit instructions.
Results
What will my report tell me?
Hidden blood (FIT) detection status, stool DNA biomarker analysis, whether elevated risk markers were identified, and guidance on recommended next steps if applicable.
Is this a diagnosis?
No. It's a screening test. Positive or concerning results should be followed up with a clinician, who may recommend further tests such as colonoscopy.
What if my result is normal but I have symptoms?
Speak to your GP. No screening test catches everything, and symptoms should always be checked.
Is my data kept private?
The listing describes secure data protection and confidential reporting, with results delivered via a secure digital report.
